Usage notes
"Remote islands" in the Faroe Islands refer to Mykines, Kalsoy, Fugloy, Svínoy, Hestur, Koltur, Skúvoy and Stóra Dímun, i.e. all small islands with no road connection (bridge, tunnel, causeway), except Nólsoy, which was no longer considered as an útoyggj after merging with the capital municipality of Tórshavn.
