Inherited from Proto-Dravidian *kuṯ-V-nk-/-w (“thigh”). Cognate with Kui (India) କୁଜୁ (kuju, “thigh”), Kurukh ख़ॊस्गा (xosgā, “thigh, lap”), Kuvi କୁଦ୍ଗୁ (kudgu, “animal thigh”), Gondi కుర్కి (kurki, “animal thigh”), Tamil குறங்கு (kuṟaṅku, “thigh”), Telugu కుఱువు (kuṟuvu, “thigh”), and Kumarbhag Paharia क़ॊस्ग़ॆ (qosg̣e, “thigh”).
