Etymology
From Old Japanese. Compound of 率 (i, 連用形 (ren'yōkei, “stem or continuative form”) of the verb 率る (iru, “to be accompanied with”)) + 寝 (nu, “(archaic) to sleep”). Not to be confused with 寝ぬ (inu).
