Etymology

From Proto-Indo-European *nΓ©wos (β€œnew”). Cognates include Latin novus, Mycenaean Greek π€šπ€Ί (ne-wo), Sanskrit ΰ€¨ΰ€΅ (nΓ‘va) and Old English nΔ«ewe (English new).
