Etymology
Uncertain; possibly from hart (“hard”) + possibly *haro, a Verner alternant form of *haso (“hare”) and related to English hare. Otherwise maybe a reduplication of the same element hār- in *hārinc or another similar element. Compare Old English heardhara.
