Perhaps the stem's extraction as monosyllabic bar- and not also possible disyllabic barab- is due to specific analogy to an adverb like mentioned shkaraz with an also monosyllabic stem and not one like mentioned tërthoraz with a disyllabic stem.

Ultimately from Ottoman Turkish برابر (beraber, baraber), from Persian برابر (barâbar, “equal”).
