Etymology

From yenda (to walk, to move) +‎ -etsa (causative suffix for verbs where the penultimate vowel of the stem is 'e'). Cognate with Tumbuka -yendeska (to cause to move), Yao -jendesya (to cause to move) and Swahili -endesha (to cause to move).
